Instructions
- Cream shortening and add sugar gradually.
- Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
- Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
- Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and flavoring.
- Beat thoroughly after each addition.
- Makes 2 (8-inch) layers or 1 (3 1/2 x 8 x 4-inch) loaf.
- Bake at 350° for 30 minutes for layers and 45 minutes for loaf.
- I use this cake when I need to bake something quick.
