Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons Crisco
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and Crisco together until well combined.
  2. Add hot water gradually and knead until the mixture forms a smooth ball.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to desired thickness.
  4. Dip each rolled-out piece in hot Crisco until browned and not too crisp.
  5. Fill with cooked meat and beans mixed with taco sauce, then top with cheese.
  6. Fold or seal the tortis and serve.
