- Mix cake mix as directed on the box.
- Pour half of the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan and bake for 15 minutes at 350°.
- Melt caramels, butter and milk; stir constantly and add chocolate, nuts and coconut.
- Remove cake from oven and pour 3/4 of caramel mixture over bottom layer of cake.
- Pour remaining batter on top and return to oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Let cake cool for 10 minutes and pour remaining caramel mixture on top. When cool, cut into small slices.
