Ingredients

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Mix together the cake mix, melted margarine, and evaporated milk.
  2. Spread half of the mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Bake for 5 minutes at 350°F.
  4. Melt 30 caramel squares in 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
  5. Drizzle the melted caramel over the baked batter.
  6. Sprinkle 1 cup pecan pieces and 1 cup chocolate chips on top.
  7. Drop the remaining batter in blotches over the nuts and chips.
  8. Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes at 350°F.
  9. Cool completely and cut into squares.
