U.S.D.A. Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • unbaked (10-inch) pie shell
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Beat eggs until just blended.
  3. Add sugar, salt and corn syrup.
  4. Add cooled butter and vanilla, mixing just to blend.
  5. Spread nuts in bottom of pie shell.
  6. Pour in filling.
  7. Place pie in oven.
  8. Reduce heat to 325° at once.
  9. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes.
