Ingredients

  • 3/4 stick margarine (not diet margarine)
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream margarine and sugar.
  2. Add beaten eggs and mix well.
  3. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk; beat well for about 10 minutes.
  4. Bake in 2 greased and floured 8 x 1 1/2-inch pans for about 30 to 35 minutes at 350°.
  5. Raisins and nuts (or both) may be added.
  6. Frost with mocha icing.
