Walnut Torta

Ingredients

  • 8 egg yolks plus 2 whole eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. whiskey
  • 12 Tbsp. sifted flour
  • 22 Tbsp. fine ground walnuts
  • 4 Tbsp. each: flour and grated toast
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 8 egg whites
  • dash of salt

Instructions

  1. Beat egg yolks plus 2 whole eggs well.
  2. Add whiskey and sugar. Beat well for 3 minutes with an electric mixer.
  3. Remove from mixer and fold in walnuts.
  4. Fold in flour and toast.
  5. Add vanilla. Beat egg whites with a dash of salt and cream of tartar and beat until stiff.
  6. Now fold egg yolk mixture into whites.
  7. Mix.
  8. Pour into pan and bake for 55 minutes at 350°.
