- Cream well shortening and sugar.
- Blend eggs one at a time; set aside.
- Sift together flour, salt and baking powder.
- Combine water and vanilla.
- Add alternately to creamed mixture beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
- Blend thoroughly after each addition with mixer on low speed.
