Wine Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 5 or 6 large potatoes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 c. cubed Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. minced white onion
  • 1 can golden mushroom soup
  • 1/2 c. white cooking wine

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°.
  2. Pare and slice potatoes; arrange half the slices in a greased casserole.
  3. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle 1/2 of the cheese and 1/2 of the onion over the potatoes. Spoon 1/2 of the soup over top, then pour 1/2 of the wine over the soup.
  4. Repeat layers; cover casserole.
  5. Bake for 1 hour.
  6. Remove cover; bake 15 minutes longer.
