Ingredients

  • berries or grapes
  • juice

Instructions

  1. Squeeze berries or grapes into a mush and tie up in a stone jar so insects can't get to it.
  2. Let stand for 10 days or until grapes ferment well.
  3. Strain the mixture and sweeten using 3 measures of juice and 1 measure of sugar.
  4. Let stand and ferment again.
  5. Skim every morning until the skim quits rising.
  6. Bottle but don't cork tight for 4 or 5 days.
  7. Use three cups juice to 1 cup sugar.
