Ingredients

  • 4 lb. sifted flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. yeast
  • 3 cups warm water

Instructions

  1. Sift the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt) together in a large bowl.
  2. Add the Crisco to the sifted dry ingredients and mix until crumbly.
  3. Combine the yeast with 3 cups of warm water and let it activate for a few minutes.
  4. Gradually add the warm yeast water to the dry mixture while kneading thoroughly.
  5. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, then let it rise until doubled in size.
  6. Shape the dough into rolls and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
