Zabaione is a creamy, frothy Italian dessert with rich Marsala wine flavor, perfect for elegant gatherings or a luxurious treat with ladyfingers.

Ingredients

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 7 tablespoons Marsala
  • ladyfingers

Instructions

  1. Place the egg yolks, sugar, and warm water in a bowl over a saucepan of hot water.
  2. Beat with a rotary whisk until pale in color and frothy.
  3. Whisk in the Marsala a little at a time and continue whisking over heat for 5 to 10 minutes until mixture becomes thick and foamy and holds its shape in a spoon.
  4. Remove from the heat and spoon into tall wine glasses.
  5. Serve immediately with ladyfingers.
