Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow or white cake mix
  • 1 8 oz package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup seedless raspberry jam

Instructions

  1. Mix the cake according to the package directions, adding the almond flavoring.
  2. Divide the batter evenly and pour into two greased 8-inch round pans.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at the temperature specified on the cake mix box until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cakes to cool completely in the pans on wire racks.
  5. Spread the seedless raspberry jam onto one of the cooled cake layers.
  6. Place the second cake layer on top of the jam layer.
  7. Frost or fill with cream cheese as desired, then assemble the layers to complete the cake.
