Instructions
- Scald milk and stir in sugar.
- Add shortening and cool to lukewarm.
- Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
- Add the yeast mixture to the milk mixture and then add flour gradually.
- Cover and set aside in a warm place for 30 minutes to double in bulk.
- Knead the batter on a floured board.
- Roll out to desired thickness.
- Cut with a biscuit cutter.
- Brush with margarine and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350° to 400° until done.
