Ingredients

  • 2 2/3 cups sugar
  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup plain White Lily flour
  • 8 eggs
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 8 tablespoons evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, Crisco, and sugar thoroughly.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Alternately add flour and evaporated milk, starting and ending with flour.
  4. Add vanilla flavoring.
  5. Pour batter into a deep tube pan.
  6. Bake in a cold oven for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
