Ingredients

  • 4 to 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons oleo

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 1/2 cups flour, salt, sugar, and dry yeast in a bowl.
  2. Heat milk, water, and oleo to 125°F.
  3. Gradually add the heated mixture to the dry ingredients and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed.
  4. Add 1 cup of flour and beat at high speed for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in enough flour to make a soft dough.
  6. Knead the dough for 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Divide the dough into 12 parts.
  8. Put the dough portions into a greased pan.
  9. Place the pan into a cold oven with a pan of hot water underneath.
  10. Close the oven and let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
  11. Remove the water from the oven.
  12. Bake the rolls at 375°F for 30 minutes.
