Ingredients

  • 1/2 to 1 head of cabbage
  • 12 oz. lean ground meat
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 4 c. water
  • 3 cans tomato sauce
  • 1 can Rotel tomatoes
  • 1 c. raw rice

Instructions

  1. Precook the cabbage until wilted, then set aside.
  2. Season and cook the ground meat, chopped onions, and chopped bell pepper until the meat is browned and vegetables are tender.
  3. Add chili powder, water, tomato sauce, Rotel tomatoes, and raw rice to the cooked meat mixture.
  4. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 1 hour or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
