Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 lb. cranberries (fresh), washed
  • 1/3 c. orange marmalade
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 1/2 c. almonds, slivered, blanched

Instructions

  1. Bring sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Boil for 5 minutes to make a syrup.
  3. Add cranberries to the syrup and cook until the skins burst, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in orange marmalade and lemon juice until well combined.
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  6. Mix in slivered almonds and Amaretto liqueur.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
  8. Keep refrigerated for best storage; if freezing, add almonds and Amaretto after defrosting.
