- Wash the orange, lemon, and grapefruit, remove their peels, and cut the peels into thin slices.
- Add 1 quart of water to the peel slices and boil for 5 minutes.
- Drain the peels, then add 1 quart of fresh water and boil; repeat this process 3 more times.
- Remove seeds and strings from the fruits, then slice the fruits and add them to the boiling peel.
- Add twice as much water as the fruit mixture and boil for 40 minutes.
- Add an equal amount of sugar as the fruit mixture and continue boiling until the jam is thick and amber-colored, about 25 minutes.
