Angel Wings, or Chrusciki, are delicate, crispy pastries with a sweet, flaky texture, perfect for festive occasions or as an elegant treat for any dessert lover.

Ingredients

  • 16 egg yolks
  • 1/2 juice of lemon
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 6 c flour
  • 2 c sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Add salt and vanilla to eggs and beat until thick; then add lemon juice, sugar, and sour cream and continue to beat.
  2. Fold in flour and knead until the dough blisters.
  3. Roll the dough out very thin and cut into strips about 4 inches long.
  4. Slit each piece in the center and pull one end through the slit.
  5. Fry in hot fat at 350° to 400°F until lightly browned.
  6. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
