Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 c. Crisco
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 can hot water
  • 1 pkg. orange Jell-O
  • 3/4 c. water

Instructions

  1. Mix the yellow cake mix, orange Jell-O, eggs, Crisco, and water well and pour into a greased and floured tube or loaf pan.
  2. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. While the cake is baking, mix together the sugar, orange juice from the can, and hot water until the sugar dissolves.
  4. As soon as the cake is removed from the oven, punch holes all over the top with a large fork.
  5. Spoon the juice mixture all over the top of the cake and let it stand until completely cool.
