Apple Dumplings are a delightful dessert featuring tender apple slices wrapped in flaky biscuit dough, baked with a cinnamon-sugar syrup. The combination of tart apples, sweet syrup, and buttery biscuits creates a comforting treat perfect for family gatherings and cozy evenings.

Ingredients

  • 4 large Granny Smith apples
  • 1 large can Hungry Jack flaky biscuits
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice each apple into 8 slices.
  2. Pull apart each biscuit into three flaky stacks.
  3. Wrap each apple slice with one-third of a biscuit, stretched to fit around it.
  4. Place the wrapped apples in a greased baking dish.
  5. Bring water, sugar, and margarine to a boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla.
  6. Pour the syrup mixture over the wrapped apples.
  7. Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
