Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Bran
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup oleo
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 to 6 cups white flour

Instructions

  1. Mix the All-Bran with 2 cups boiling water and let it soften.
  2. In a separate small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in 1/4 cup warm water and let it activate.
  3. Combine the softened All-Bran mixture, yeast mixture, oleo, molasses, salt, and 3 cups of flour. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add remaining flour until the dough is stiff but workable.
  5. Knead the dough thoroughly until smooth and elastic.
  6. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  7. Punch down the dough and divide it into three greased pans.
  8. Let the dough rise again until doubled, about 30 to 45 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
