Apple Knobby Pudding

Ingredients

  • 3 c. finely diced apples
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. each: cinnamon, nutmeg, salt
  • 1 tsp. soda

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening, sugar and egg. Add apples, nuts and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients.
  2. Bake in oven at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes in an 8-inch square pan.
  3. Serve with whipped cream or lemon sauce.
