Ingredients

  • 6 cups pared and sliced apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Instructions

  1. Combine apple slices, sugar, cinnamon, and water in a saucepan with a tight-fitting lid.
  2. Heat to boiling.
  3. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
  4. Stir in enough milk to make a soft dough.
  5. Drop dough from a tablespoon onto the apple mixture.
  6. Cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes.
  7. Serve warm with sauce or heavy cream.
