- Peel and seed the squash, then cut into 1/2-inch cubes.
- Combine the squash and apple cider in a medium saucepan and cover.
- Cook over medium heat for 10 to 12 minutes or until the squash is almost tender.
- Add the peeled and cubed apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and margarine or butter if desired.
- Cover and cook for an additional 4 to 5 minutes or until both squash and apples are very tender.
