Aromatic Lamb Roast
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs boneless lamb shoulders
- 2 tbsp kecap manis (thick sweet soy sauce)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds ⓘ
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed ⓘ
- 2 tsp sesame oil ⓘ
- 1 piece (1/2 inch) fresh ginger, grated ⓘ
- 1 None red pepper, seeded and thinly sliced ⓘ
- 1 1/3 lbs gai lan (Chinese broccoli), coarsely chopped ⓘ
- 1/3 cup oyster sauce ⓘ
- 1 tbsp lime juice ⓘ
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Cook the lamb in a heated oiled wok until browned. Place the lamb on an oiled wire rack in a roasting pan. Brush with combined kecap manis, sesame seeds and half of the garlic.
- Roast for about 25 mins or until cooked to desired doneness. Let stand, loosely covered with foil, 5 mins, then slice thickly.
- Meanwhile, heat the oil in the same wok on high heat. Stir-fry the ginger and remaining garlic until fragrant. Add the pepper, gai lan, and combined oyster sauce, lime juice and 2 tbsp water; stir-fry until the gai lan is just wilted. Serve the lamb on the gai lan mixture.
