Ingredients

  • 6 c. flour
  • 5 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. melted shortening
  • 4 c. water (warm)
  • 2 pkg. yeast

Instructions

  1. Mix the dissolved yeast in warm water with the other liquids (water and melted shortening).
  2. Add the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, and salt to the liquid mixture.
  3. Knead the dough until stiff and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise until it has doubled in size.
  5. Shape the dough and put into pans.
  6. Bake in a 350°F oven for 40 minutes.
