Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk, scalded
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs just enough to combine yolks and whites.
  2. Add salt and sugar and stir to blend.
  3. Stir in scalded milk gradually, but briskly.
  4. Add vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the mixture into an 8 x 8-inch glass pan.
  6. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
  7. Bake at 350°F until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
