Ingredients

  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. butter, softened
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. freshly grated lemon peel
  • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • powdered sugar (if desired)

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°. Beat egg whites in small mixer bowl at high speed until foamy (1 to 2 minutes). Continue beating, gradually adding 1/4 cup sugar, until glossy and stiff peaks form (2 to 3 minutes). Set aside.
