Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup mashed banana
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar together.
  2. Add eggs, beating well after each addition.
  3. Stir in mashed banana.
  4. Mix dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt) together in a separate bowl.
  5. Add dry ingredients to banana mixture and mix well.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased square pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
