Bananas In Rum

Ingredients

  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 slices lemon (with rind), halved
  • 4 slices orange (with rind), halved
  • 1 tsp. rum extract
  • 6 large ripe bananas
  • 1/4 c. butter

Instructions

  1. Boil the water, sugars and fruit until the syrup will glaze on a spoon.
  2. Add the extract.
  3. Slice the bananas and saute them in butter. Gently fold the bananas into the syrup.
  4. Divide the fruit mix and syrup between 6 dessert cups. Sprinkle a teaspoon of rum over each serving.
  5. This is best served hot.
