Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. White Lily plain flour
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven and prepare a cake pan.
  2. Combine sugar and Crisco in a mixing bowl and beat well.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla or coconut flavoring if desired.
  5. Alternate adding the flour and milk, beginning and ending with flour, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 35 minutes.
  8. Allow the cake to cool before removing from the pan and serving.
