Basic Bread Pudding(Microwave)

Ingredients

  • 4 c. bread cubes (4 to 5 slices)
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Measure milk into 1 quart measuring cup.
  2. Add butter. Microwave at High 4 minutes until butter is melted and milk is warm.
  3. Rapidly stir in eggs with a fork and mix well.
  4. Pour over bread cubes in dish.
  5. Microwave at Medium 9 to 12 minutes, rotating dish 1/4 turn after 6 minutes.
  6. When cooked, center may still be slightly soft but it will set up as pudding cools.
  7. Serve warm or chilled.
  8. Makes about 6 servings.
