Basic Granola

Ingredients

  • 9 c. raw oats
  • 1 c. rye flour
  • 2 c. whole-wheat flour
  • 1 c. coconut
  • 3/4 c. honey
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. hot water
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combine oats, rye flour, whole-wheat flour and coconut in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Combine honey, salt, water and vanilla in a quart jar.
  3. Cover and shake.
  4. Then add to first mixture.
  5. Stir until evenly moistened.
  6. Divide evenly into two 9 x 13-inch pans. Bake at 350° until desired texture is achieved.
  7. Stir every 15 minutes.
  8. Keeps well in airtight container.
  9. To serve, add raisins, fresh fruit, nuts, etc.
