Ingredients

  • 8 medium tart apples
  • 2/3 cup granulated brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • apple cider

Instructions

  1. Set the oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Pare, quarter, and core the apples. Combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
  3. Put a layer of apples in the bottom of a bean pot; sprinkle a little of the sugar mixture over them.
  4. Continue layering apple quarters and sugar mixture.
  5. Pour enough apple cider over the apples to cover them completely.
  6. Cover the bean pot.
  7. Place the pot in the oven and bake for 2 to 3 hours or until the apples are tender.
