Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops (1 lb.)
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 lb. can pork and beans with tomato sauce
  • 1/3 c. applesauce
  • 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
  • 2 Tbsp. slivered almonds

Instructions

  1. Brown pork chops.
  2. Cook onion in shortening until tender in heavy skillet.
  3. Cover and cook on low heat 30 minutes.
  4. Add beans, applesauce and allspice.
  5. Cover and cook 15 minutes.
