Becky's Oatmeal Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 12 teaspoons salt
  • 12 cup oatmeal
  • 14 cup wheat bran
  • 2 tablespoons wheat germ
  • 1 tablespoon vital wheat gluten
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 12 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 14 teaspoons active dry yeast

Instructions

  1. Add ingredients into the bread machine in the order listed.
  2. Set to dough cycle.
  3. My machine takes 1 hr 50 minutes.
  4. When dough cycle is finished, shape as desired and allow to rise until double in size.
  5. Bake approximately 20-30 minutes until the top starts to brown and it sounds hollow when you tap it.
  6. Brush top with butter if desired.
  7. Makes a nice sandwich bread.
