Beef 'N Cabbage Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans Italian style tomato soup
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 can water
  • 1 cup long cooking rice
  • 1 small head cabbage, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and season with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the Italian style tomato soup, tomato sauce, and water until smooth.
  4. Add the cooked ground beef, rice, and finely chopped cabbage to a large mixing bowl. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
  6. Pour the tomato mixture evenly over the casserole.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for about 60 minutes, or until the rice and cabbage are tender.
  8. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve.
