Beefburger Bar-Be-Que

Ingredients

  • 3 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1- 14 oz. bottle heinz catsup
  • water
  • hamburger buns, cooked rice or pasta (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown meat in 12 inch skillet, drain off excess grease. Add next 6 ingredients, fill catsup bottle half full of water and shake. Add water to mixture, stir mixture well. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add more water if necessary, for desired consistency. Serve on hamburger buns, cooked rice or cooked pasta as desired. Yield 6 hearty portions or 10 small ones. This can be made to serve 40 for outdoor picnic. Use 15# hamburger, 5 onions, 6 peppers, 3/4 c. sugar, 6 bottles catsup, and water to desired consistency.
