Ingredients

  • 2 cups berries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 1/2 cups hot water
  • 2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine

Instructions

  1. Put berries, sugar, butter cut into pieces, and hot water in the bottom of a 3-quart baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, and margarine until well combined.
  3. Add milk to the flour mixture and stir well to form a dough.
  4. Place the dough mixture on top of the berries in the baking dish.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour until golden and bubbly.
