Ingredients

  • 1 pound cranberries or other berries
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. orange juice
  • Whipped cream for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine water, berries, and sugar in a saucepan.
  2. Simmer until the berries pop or soften.
  3. Puree the berries in a food mill or processor.
  4. Strain the puree through a sieve to remove the seeds if desired.
  5. Return the puree to the saucepan.
  6. Mix the cornstarch and orange juice, then add to the puree.
  7. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  8. Chill and serve with whipped cream.
