Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 c. lukewarm milk
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. egg substitute
  • 5 c. flour, divided (2 c. and 3 c.)

Instructions

  1. Warm milk to lukewarm and pour into a bowl.
  2. Add yeast and stir until dissolved.
  3. Add sugar, 2 cups of flour and mix well until smooth.
  4. Place the bowl in a warm place and let rise about 30 minutes.
  5. Stir in beaten eggs, melted margarine, and salt.
  6. Gradually mix in the remaining 3 cups of flour.
  7. Work the dough until smooth and elastic.
  8. Let rise until the bowl is full or the dough doubles in size, about 1 hour.
