Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cherries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons Crisco
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Bring sugar, cherries, and water to a boil.
  2. Mix remaining sugar, flour, and baking powder together and put in a greased baking dish.
  3. Pour the cherry mixture on top of the batter.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
