Chewy, crunchy toffee bars with a chocolate and nut topping, perfect for sharing at parties or as a sweet treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • saltine crackers
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 package milk chocolate chips
  • crushed nuts

Instructions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with foil and spray well with nonstick spray.
  2. Line the cookie sheet with saltine crackers.
  3. In a saucepan, boil the sugar and butter until it comes to a rolling boil, stirring well.
  4. Pour the sugar mixture over the saltines on the prepared cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and evenly spread the milk chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
  7. Return the tray to the warm oven just long enough to melt the chocolate chips.
  8. Sprinkle crushed nuts over the melted chocolate.
  9. Let the tray cool in the refrigerator for several hours.
  10. Break into pieces and serve.
