Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 lb. flour
  • 6 drops oil of anise
  • 1/2 lb. butter or shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs with salt; add sugar; blend thoroughly.
  2. Sift flour and baking powder; add to eggs and sugar.
  3. Add anise oil and butter; mix well.
  4. Knead until smooth.
  5. Roll small pieces into 3-inch oblong shapes and other forms.
  6. Bake in a moderate oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
