Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake two 9-inch cakes according to the package directions.
  2. Cool the cakes on a wire rack.
  3. Drain the maraschino cherries, reserving 2 tablespoons of juice.
  4. Sprinkle the reserved cherry juice over one layer of the cake.
  5. Spread the cherry pie filling over the soaked layer.
  6. Place the second cake layer on top.
  7. Spread whipped cream over the top and sides of the assembled cake.
  8. Decorate with cherries and chocolate curls.
