Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using whole milk instead of scalded milk. If you don't have a yeast cake, you can substitute it with 2 1/4 tsp of active dry yeast. Ensure that the water used to dissolve the yeast is not too hot, as it can kill the yeast. Knead the dough until smooth for the best texture.

Serving Suggestions

Serve bobalky warm, mixed with melted butter and poppy seeds for an authentic touch. They make a delightful side dish for a festive meal or can be enjoyed as a snack. Pair them with a light salad or alongside dishes like Boiled Eggs for a complete Christmas Eve dinner experience.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover bobalky in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, refrigerate them for up to a week. To reheat, place them in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-10 minutes until warmed through. This will help maintain their texture.
