- Crumble the cake yeast into the lukewarm water with 1 teaspoon of sugar; let stand until dissolved.
- Mix flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and margarine as for pie crust; add egg yolks, sour cream, and the dissolved yeast mixture.
- Knead the mixture into a soft dough; refrigerate overnight.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured board to about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Cut out small circles using a doughnut cutter; place them on a cookie sheet with rounds touching.
- Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
- Make an imprint in the center of each circle and fill with your choice of pie filling.
- Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes until golden brown.
