Ingredients

  • 16 slices white bread
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/8 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Remove crusts from bread and roll out flat with a rolling pin.
  2. Mix together cream cheese, egg yolk, sugar, and vanilla to make the filling.
  3. Spread 1 teaspoon of the cheese mixture on each bread slice and roll up.
  4. Melt butter and roll the bread rolls in the melted butter, then in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Place the rolls seam side down on a cookie sheet.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
  8. Cut the rolls in half and serve warm or cold.
